March Madness: Betting On The Sweet 16 In 2025

Fourteen out of sixteen teams in the Southeastern Conference qualified for the 2025 March Madness Tournament. That effort broke a record that was set in 2011 by the Big East when they placed eleven teams in the tourney.

Seven SEC programs have advanced to the Round of 16, breaking a nine-year-old record set by the ACC.

Of the seven SEC teams remaining, the Florida Gators hold the best odds to win the championship according to the following futures provided by Bovada Sportsbook.

2025 NCAA DI Men’s Basketball Tournament Odds

The Duke Blue Devils are the only ACC program remaining in the tournament, and are favored to win it all by most USA sports betting sites. Duke has won their first two matchups by over 20 points, and is favored to beat the 4th-seeded Arizona Wildcats in the Sweet 16 by 9.

The Florida Gators are the team most favored to meet the Blue Devils in the March Madness Finals. The U of F will face the 4-seed Maryland Terrapins in the third round and is favored to win by 6 tomorrow night.

The lowest remaining seed in the tournament is the 10-seed Arkansas Razorbacks coached by John Calipari. The Razorbacks made it to the third round by knocking off the 2-seed St. John’s Red Storm in the Round of 32.

Oddsmakers are predicting that Arkansas’s Cinderella story will end on Friday when they face Texas Tech.

Arkansas (#10) vs. Texas Tech (#3) Betting Line

  • Point Spread: Arkansas +5.0 (-105), Texas Tech -5.0 (-115)
  • Moneyline: Arkansas +185, Texas Tech -225
  • Over: 148.0 (-110)
  • Under: 148.0 (-110)

The sites included in our online sportsbook reviews suggest that the closest contest during the Sweet 16 will be between #6 Ole Miss and #2 Michigan State. The spread separates the two programs by only 3.5 points.

Mississippi (#6) vs. Michigan State (#2) Betting Line

  • Point Spread: Ole Miss +3.5 (-105), Michigan State -3.5 (-115)
  • Moneyline: Ole Miss +145, Michigan State -170
  • Over: 143.5 (-110)
  • Under: 143.5 (-110)

Because of matchups, the SEC has the potential to qualify up to six teams for the Elite 8. This would shatter the Big East’s previous record of four teams set in 2009.

In 2009, the North Carolina Tarheels of the ACC won the tournament championship despite the record number of Big East teams. Oddsmakers imply we are in for a repeat performance in 2025 as Duke appears poised to win it all.
