USA online casino gaming has grown exponentially over the past few years. As the practice transitions out of being a shameful taboo and towards a place of normalcy, corporate strategists are looking for new ways of integrating legal gambling with other hobbies and interests.
Shoveling Out Of The Shame
It has been a lengthy rebranding process for even the industry’s most well-known contributors. Sportsbooks and gambling houses are no longer operated out of rural sheds in the shadows. And yet, they’re still treated as such.
To combat these stigmas, many operators have enlisted the help of familiar faces and household names. Since 2020, we’ve seen a slew of celebrities enter USA online sports betting space.
Right now, Drake is regarded as the most elite celebrity gambler in the game. Having gambled over $1 billion with Stake, the rapper is on track to change the way we look at wagers.
Celebrities Save The Sportsbook
But the celebrity endorsements don’t stop there. Stake’s partnership with Drake was the first of its kind. Competing sportsbooks that have been riding the coattails of this success are now looking to do the same.
Nicki Minaj is the most recent addition to our star-studded list of celebrity spokesmen. On Tuesday, Minaj told fans that she had agreed to team up with MaximBet—a sports betting and lifestyle brand.
Many now speculate that the rapper was hinting at the announcement in early May when she wore a leather Burberry baseball cap to the 2022 Met Gala. It makes sense—Nicki’s bringing the glam back to gambling.
It is believed that Minaj’s new position as Creative Director and Global Ambassador will enable the company to become a more welcoming space for women and members of the LGBTQ community.
Just as she was a trailblazer for feminine folk in rap and hip hop, Nicki Minaj is prepared to do the same for the gaming industry. Based on the company’s website, it’s already geared to do so.
Looking Towards A New Audience
Maxim’s branding and color scheme go well with Barb-style fashion, making great use of neon purples and pinks across black backgrounds. And unlike other USA mobile sportsbooks, their promotional content features beautiful women clad with glitter and diamonds.
It’s a big switch from middle-aged guys in jerseys and face paint yelling at a TV screen. But it’s bound to pay off. The strategy caters to a virtually untapped market.
The announcement, alone, has proven to be enough to put Maxim on the map. I, personally, am looking forward to the growth this group will see.
The MaximBet site is only available to US residents in Colorado. Still, the company plans on expanding its sportsbook and casino services to states like Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, New Jersey, and Ohio.
The brand is also aiming for international acclaim, pushing for market space in Canada and beyond.
